Patio & Fireplace – Howard
The Howard’s had been wanting an outdoor living space for years. They had sketched up some ideas and had pictures from books and magazines. I met with them, and we went over the design and location. Several large oak trees were removed and the grading was done. Two separate patios were poured with a step down between the two. Drains were installed in the patio to prevent any standing water. An outdoor kitchen was designed into one section, complete with a sink, grill, cooktop and refrigerator with granite countertops. The other section included built in bench seating with fireplace. Natural stone was used to wrap patio walls and floors. Lighting was very important to the Howards, so lamps were installed on columns and lights installed at the bases and in some of the surrounding trees. This was a fun and rewarding project to do. The Howards love it and I’m sure they will be entertaining guests on their new outdoor living space soon.
